...and these are the last few hours of 2014
What a year! I don't know that any year can compete with my last year, but I actually say that just about every New Year's Eve.....but A LOT has happened this year.
My family became world travelers this year. We picked up our kids and moved to a small country in Central America, to a country where the streets have no names....and it has been exciting, daunting, mundane and exotic all in the same breath.
My three youngest children go to a new International school. Never before have they been the kids that did not speak the main language...but they are trying.
My two oldest children are on two separate continents, making their way in their young adult life. (When did my family get flung across three continents?)
My husband has a different kind of job.
My daily schedule is completely different then it has ever been in my life. The sun rises at 5:00 a.m, without any twilight, and this country comes alive. People don't slowly come to wakefulness, with coffee and breakfast being made in the grey color of twilight in their kitchen with curtains and blinds closed, as I am accustomed to. No here, it is dark one moment, and about four minutes later it is bright! Birds are singing, gardeners have their leaf blowers going and people are walking along the roads--it is busy.
We have been here for six months, and the honeymoon is over. In 2015, we are getting down to the business of living in this new place.....
I am impatient for the new year. Welcome 2015
